Friends and Family Update 2024
Hello Friends, Partners and Family,
Wishing everyone a prosperous 2024!
Makers Paradise is looking forward to an exciting and successful year with many new and exciting art projects and programs. We would like to thank everyone for their support and commitment to our mission, providing art programming and assisting emerging artists in the Bay Area and Reno Nevada since 2018.
Makers Paradise looks forward to continuing to provide artists and our communities with safe and collaborative spaces to engage in artistic creativity and allow cultures to unite.
Our plan for the immediate future includes continuing to support senior art therapy programs, and creating and facilitating art projects that include partnering with other community organizations. Also, we continue to develop and curate art shows and events at our galleries, art spaces and communities we serve.
We are reaching out to you to provide an update on our present status and next steps in plans for the development of our spaces and projects. Attached are some photos and information on some of the exciting things we are presently managing. As you can see, we have been very busy.
Our goal is to renovate our new Reno space with upgrades to our studio space, gallery and classroom area which will allow us to support the local art community and increase our art programs for disabled arts, veterans and emerging artists. Additionally, we are partnering with the Northern Nevada Veterans Home to develop and create a Veteran Art Garden with 12 large art sculptures, a performance stage, and other outdoor art features.
In Berkeley, Makers Paradise continues to manage senior art therapy programs at local senior centers. Also at various skilled and assisted living facilities we provide job training for disabled job seekers who want to work in senior activities or art related industries. Makers Paradise plans to continue to promote and facilitate art shows, street fairs and events that allow our art community the opportunity to exhibit their art and gain skills to become successfully independent.
We are reaching out to you today to ask for your financial support. Any amount is welcome and no donation is too small. All donations are tax deductible and Makers Paradise can provide donation receipts for tax purposes. All donations will be used for program development, improving and upgrading our existing spaces and for providing scholarships to our artists. Over the past 5 years, Makers Paradise has given over $20,000 in scholarships to emerging artists which has allowed the recipients to further their art education and build on their art careers. Our goal for our fundraising campaign this year is $30,000 which will allow us to complete our upgrades and maintain our existing programs and services for 2024.
Below are some attachments and photos from last year. We are proud of our accomplishments and what we have achieved since our beginning in 2018. Please feel free to reach out to me or Tom Franco if you have any questions or are interested in becoming more involved this year with Makers Paradise. We will be upgrading our website in the next 2 months and improving our social media and communications with a quarterly newsletter.
